Hydrolite CX System

With many years experience in the design and manufacture of surveying equipment, Ohmex has released HydroLite CX, the latest version of its portable hydrographic survey system for small boats. The combination of the rugged Allegro CX field computer, SonarMite Echo Sounder and a DGPS system provides the ultimate in portable hydrographic surveying systems.

The HydroLite CX system represents a small self-contained survey system with sufficient internal power and memory for a complete working day's data collection. Easily integrated with most modern low-power GPS systems, in particular systems using the WAAS or EGNOS satelite broadcast correction services, the system is completely autonomous and can be easily mounted in any available vessel, small or large.

SonarMite is a low-power echo sounder using state of the art DSP technology to provide accurate depth measurements in a wide variety of water conditions. The unit has integral accelerometers for the measurement of attitude and displacement experienced in small vessels. Data can be transmitted using a conventional serial port or by its internal Bluetooth transmitter.

The WinCE software running on the Allegro enables the user to simultaneously collect and view depth and position data using either a standard serial cable connection or the built-in Bluetooth link.

Using the 'Winstrumentation' concept developed by Ohmex the use of intuitive split-screens enables the simple display and control of the system using familiar windows conventions. Included with the system is the SonarXP post-processing software package enabling the interactive editing of collected data and its subsequent conversion into formats for use in CAD, Mapping and analysis packages.
